If there is a unified theme in the Minor Prophetic literature it is one of repentance. These 12 books are filled with appeals from God to His recalcitrant and wayward people to repent and return to covenant fidelity. These books are about God’s people coming back to God’s heart and God’s ways. Their messages are not something archaic that we should seek to unhitch ourselves from. They are, rather, vibrant and relevant means by which God’s new covenant people can be revived. This is my prayer as we spend time in these books.
